Cracking shot Jonathan. Really like the details captured here, the perch, the worm and the super BG. Exposure looks good to me, and everything is sharp. Minor nit...looks like a reflection in the eye, as opposed to a catchlight...but not really an issue...I'd be happy with this one. I think some may like a tighter crop? but I'm ok as is. TFS

    Hi Jon,

I watched it with pleasure. The bait and focus is very good. The sharpness of the feet is excellent. Congratulations.

Hi Jon ... just works so well !!!
Love the mottled BG and the food for the kids is very nice bonus !!
Color and tones are looking well , and you have created nice sharpness .

Personally I might up the exposure a fraction

Like the bird, the pose, the sharpness, the tidbit (a caterpillar?), and the BKGR. Brightness looks spot-on to me.

    Was the perch a set-up?

Thanks everyone, the perch was indeed a set up - but not mine the image was taken in my friend's garden.
