A good habitat shot and the fish is a bonus, good IQ but the HA could be better.

Thanks Colin, I agree with you. Unfortunately there were very few birds who obliged me on this trip.

    Hi Jon ... a " typical" Keoladeo scene .
Glad you got the subject with fish .
I am fine with the overall color and tone ... but might change the exposure and the blue component a bit , as an alternative .

Andreas I know what you mean.... this image was processed primarily on data as opposed to appearance, I wondered what the overall reaction might be.

..... reactions might vary , due to taste and expectations .

Can you please translate for a " old German fart " .... what that means .... " primarily on data as opposed to appearance " . In simple world .... looking natural ??

Hi Jon, colours can be improved and in doing so you get a lot more detail coming through, lost I. the OP. Yes, the HA is slightly off, but I would settle for this than not get the shot/capture. I like the water droplets. I'm not a lover of these crop formats, here going 2x3 is tighter and focuses the eye more IMHO.

It means the colours were driven by science as opposed to my personal visual acuity.

Hmmm...no one likes 4:3 do they? I may reconsider but I have to say it does not offend me.

I think the 'science' was off on this day Jon , was this done when you change the calibration numbers, but subsequently changed them back????

Jon, as we ALL know, cropping/framing is oh so subjective, however there are times where the chosen format just doesn't work. All 'pre-sets' have their place, ditto OOTB ones, but personally I just find that you sit the subject too low in frame and there is just too much negative space above. There seems to be a trend nowadays not to have some 'comfort/breathing space' around the subject for final composition, not a trend I want to follow.

Cool looking heron. I do like the setting with all the grass. Usually only see them in water. Nice to see it with a catch.
