Hi all .... another image for this month theme .

Image taken at local pond , again back in 2015
Might be a bit tight ... had no room to play with the crop , as the subject came very close .

    Canon EOS 1Dx
    EF 500 IS L II + 2x TC III
    Tripod

    F 8 ; Iso 2000 ; 1/1000 sec

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2021 ; slightly cropped for comp and added a bit of canvas to the RHS

Thanks for looking and leaving a comment to my previous posting

    Cheers Andreas

Colours tones and details look spot on, highlights on the bill are well controlled. I agree a tad tight in the frame but as this is a deliberate close up t show head detail I don't think this is too much of an issue.

Killer detail on the goose. Great background as well.

I imagine these guys are an introduced species in your parts? So common here, considered a "dirt bird" by most, but fun to photograph - especially the downy chicks at this time of year! Yes to a bit tight - I do wish for more canvas. Good details, and the partly wet bill adds interest.

Great detail I the bird and nice BG. I also wish for a bit more space in the frame, but also wish for a touch more of the neck if you have it.

Thanks folks for your kind comments and suggestions , much appreciated .

Agree with you about the tight cropping .... and Kurt I have no more room at the foot , otherwise I would have posted a looser crop .
The original image forced me to to post it as I did .

    Cheers Andreas
