I took this one today in Lancaster MA.
Cropped quite a bit, and an insect removed in lower right of the bird.
Nikon Z7, 200-500mm+TC1.4 @ 700mm, ISO640 f/8 1/1250s
Hand held.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Ilija

A pleasing shot, there is great contrast between the subject and background..... perhaps lighten the background a little?
Hi Ilja ... very nice overall image .
I do like the tones , colors and light .The calling pose is looking good , glad the bird subject gave you that head turn .
If this was mine I would run some NR to the BG .

Really dig the perch on this one. Nice framing and pose on the bird. I like the dark background as well.
Lovely perch and bird, well done
I love these guys! Super image design. The BG does indeed need some NR...do that and you'll have a winner as far as sparrow images go!
Thank you Jonathan. Yeah, I was thinking about the BG, it is a pine trees forest. Will try.
Thank you!
Thank you. Yes, the Z7 has quite a bit of noise. I was surprised by it. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thank you.
Thanks.
I also like the singing pose and nice comp. Agree on needing NR.
Ilija, beautiful image design. Many great comments above and I will reaffirm some noise reduction.
For some, there will be debate as to whether the head angle is away from the lens slightly or not. It's really close, but regardless The dark background and stellar perch make this one for me.
Well done!
