Ruddy hens, like most waterfowl females, get the short end of the stick when it comes to plumage color. But this little doll hammed it up for me while the Drakes danced around her and I was thankful she showed me her good side :-p

Good side indeed... Lovely image, your usual high quality techs. Nothing wrong with females, maybe not as colorful as the males but beautiful without the colors. This year Audubon's photography contest has a category for females. Thank you for sharing, Brian.

Ooh, I love the soft light and soft colours. I also like what Paul refers to the "leathery" look on the bill.

Joe, appreciate you chiming in here! Great reminder about the Audobahn category, that's cool they're giving some love to the ladies!

Hi Brian .... well it is becoming very difficult to comment to one of your postings , as I do not want to bore you
So try to keep it short ..... another super clean low POV image , with a subject that gave you a good head turn .
High IQ ... your usual standard , always a great pleasure to look at .
I have no nits .... but do see some minor changes on the color front , what we discussed " offline " as a possible alternative .

Keep up that brilliant level and enjoy your processing .... .... I do love your simple layer stacks in PS

TFS and enjoy your day , Andreas
