This image was created on 12 May 2021 on the last day of my recent busman’s holiday at Fort DeSoto. While standing, I used the hand held Sony FE 600mm f/4 GM OSS lens and The One, the Sony Alpha 1 Mirrorless digital camera. ISO 400. Exposure determined via Zebras with ISO on the rear dial: 1/2000 sec. at f/4 (wide open) in Manual mode. AWB at 9:29am with some faint clouds taking the edge off the sun. Tracking: Expand Spot/AF-C was active at the moment of exposure and performed perfectly by nailing the plover’s eye.

Well this is Art Morris the artist at work... Comp is great, left edge sharp flowers perfect, the OOF lower right foliage is also perfect..
Focus on chick perfect..
It feels cold, my only complaint.
Vegetation is really great and works well with the composition you chose. Love how the eye and beak jump out from the whiteout effect.
One wish is that we had a catchlight in the eye but the head angle helps a bunch. Super tiny nit, but I also think it might not hurt to take a look at a touch more exposure to the bkg... believe it can take it but only had the jpg to play with in LR.
Love the comp on this one Artie! Great looking HK with perfect balance in the comp. I also wish for some catchlight, but that is very minor. Nicely done sir!
This is a lovely pano.I would decrease the overall exposure a smidge and tease out a bit more detail in the whites
As others have said, I just wish for a bit of a catchlight in the eye.
I have never known snowy plovers to nest at Fort deSoto. Interesting,
Gail
Definitely my kind of frame - low, beautiful tones and as I've often said, I love some environmental interest. The only park I don't like is the 2 long stalks on the right side - they'd have been banished if it were mine, too overpowering
