He's on clean-up duty. Usually late in the afternoon she will pop up in the woods and make her way to forage under the bird feeders. My favorite part of this image would be the wee bit of feathers that are wispy. Some posterization on jpeg.

The detail on the face is really nice and nice colors.
    Pretty BG.. fun subject.
A 4 x 5 crop for head shots is my preference.

Hi Ann ... a lovely head shot of these " freaky " looking birds .
Comp and the " inquisitive " look of the bird does work very well .
Details look ok ... but think the heavy tones are blocking more details .

A shame that the fine feathers on the naked head are lost somehow ... might be due to compression and or NR with a special software

    Cool capture , TFS Andreas

Ann, this is a mighty fine look at your resident custodian.

Love the rich colors and dark green canvas. Super sharp.

I see Andreas' point and may be worth playing with, but I'd take this one as is too!

    Love the IQ and details.
    The neck feathers look gorgeous.
I think this gal wants to be a giraffe!

Nice view of this hen. A square crop might work here. I like the dark background.
