White-crowned Sparrow In Crabapple pre-Blooms.

At first I thought the many White-crowned Sparrows foraging within the budding crabapples were picking off insects inside the "blooms", but they were actually ripping bits of the petals off and chewing on them, with most of the sparrows decorated with bits of pink on their bills.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, just about FF, cleaned up the frame edges by removing a couple of unwanted branches poking in.

Gorgeous. The bird is perfectly positioned around all those blooms. This would like great high key with the background full white.
