Here's a very chill female that stretched out and above the lupine in Iceland for Gail and I. She gave us good poses and then retreated into the thicker lupine.

A lovely shot of this female, giving you a nice head turn. Your Iceland shots always seem to capture the beauty of the Icelandic landscape. On our first trip to Iceland, with Johann Oli Hilmarsson as our birding guide and bus driver, we passed some spectacular stands of Lupine and wanted to stop for some landscape shots. Johann Oli, a purist and lover of his native land, considered the Lupine to be an invasive species and refused to allow anyone on the bus to take a photo of the beautiful flowers.
Yes there certainy seems to be the divide in Iceland about welcome no welcome to lupines. However, the alternative would be soil erosion and there is plenty of that in Iceland. I love them and they certainly add to the BG! I hope you get an opportunity to shoot birds amongst them Bill.
You did a fine job of framing the birds with the blossoms to produce a fine image.

Great setting with all those flowers. Framing and detail is nice.
Ann, really a pleasing frame to view. The superb purples and greens are out of this world.
Love how the subject pops up nicely between the flowers; or perhaps you strategically positioned yourself accordingly. Either way, that worked well.
Beautifully sharp and contrast looks super. Is that a rogue feather on the back of neck or perhaps a cloning remnant?
Delightful shot Ann, the bird looks really well presented amongst the lupins, I like it very much.
Love, love the setting and the look back pose.
Nothing as nice as a lupin BG.
Good PP and IQ,
gail
PS I find myself smiling at the memory of us crawling through the field/rocks to get these images. Fingers crossed for next year!
Quite different and nice, lovely image. Perfect framing. wonderful colors, unique bird I am not familiar with. Thank you for sharing, Ann.
