    What a great portrait! You and Brian will be "duking it out" for the theme prize!
    Light, DOF, IQ are all topnotch.
    The flying droplets add to the sense of motion and I love the curve in the head feathers!

    Pretty neat portrait here, and the neck feathers sure do add lots of interest with their messy and fluffed up texture! I also like the longer dark crown feathers stuck on the head. I may be wrong, but the eye looks like it may have had some work done to it, but super cool image overall.

    Hard to get great Heron shots as they are so common but this is nice, enough different to make you look..

    Very, very nice. Great that you got a perfect head angle while the bird was ruffling. This bird has a relatively short bill for a GBH. The framing is perfect.

    This is looking real good John....At 1/5000 you've froze every feather...It works well here...Really like the feathers on the neck and the facial expression...Nice HA and POV.
