Got this pic in my garden, background probably a bit too busy but thought it was a good fit for this months theme

Certainly fits the theme. Nice and sharp. The background is what it is.
Your images look clean and sharp, Work on getting better isolation and comps.. It is challenging and fun..
Dan Kearl
Wayne, a mentor once taught me the big five:
1. The right subject
2. The right pose (you don't want too steep of an angle, try to get as much in focus and sharp as possible and with head angle toward the lens)
3. The right lighting (no shadows and not too steep)
4. The right perch (ideally more than a dead stick with some foliage if possible)
5. The right background (other than blue sky is ideal, without lots of twigs or distractions)
Getting all these pieces in one can make a great image, as challenging as it is.
Like the guys say, keep on working on your field craft to get close and in the right position and let the light source be at your back!
This image is too cluttered and the shadows plus the steep angle didn't help it either. good advice above, paying attention to these points will turn a snap shot into a work of art.
