    Default passing through puffin

I liked the tones in this image as the BG includes oof burrows and puffins, giving the browns and bits of orange... Gail and I were shooting from a cliff's edge and this puffin gave a glance our way.

The wing position gives a great sense of speed. Nice light, exposure and detail, and good flight angle, slightly toward you. Good definition of the eye, which is sometimes difficult with these guys. I agree the mottled BG adds some interest. I could imagine slightly toning down the few brightest BG white spots, but it's very nice as is.

I like this as posted. I am not bothered by the white spots (other Puffins) in the BG. Good wing position and detail. Nice work!

Ann: Good input from Bill and Kurt. I would favor toning down the far left, lighter white spot, behind the tail, otherwise fine for me. Trivial, but I want the visual flow of the image to be towards the line of flight, not anchored or drawn by the light spot on the left.

    Cheers

Bang on flight shot. The soft light brang out the detail nicely.

nice in flight frame, sharp with good details, it shows a bit of a red/orange cast on my screen and I find the BG a bit distracting. maybe if you tone it down it will be less distracting. I could go with a looser crop too

Talk about "in your face"!Tack sharp with great wing position.
I like it as presented but could also see a crop with a looser version.
Agree with taming the whiter areas in BG.
    Well done,
    Gail
