One of my favorite Florida birds, the Roseate Spoonbill taken March 26th in Florida.
Third day out with my new rig, great light, good wind, and fantastic instruction, shot during an IPT, with Artie.

    Canon R5 RF 100-500 shot at 270mm 1/3200 sec f9 at ISO 1000.
Minimal processing with ACR, Photoshop, Topaz DeNoise.

    Vaughn:

Nicely exposed with good DOF. Fun pose, like the "pigeon toed" feet.

I might consider a 10% crop of the free space on the right, just personal taste really.

Were you out on Tampa Bay?

    Cheers

Vaughn, a really nice frame here my friend!

Superb front lit, fantastic fully flared wing pose and awesome detail. Clean bkg with very little wake allows the RSB to really pop.

The only way I could see to improve might be to grab the LR corner and drag up left a bit. But I'd have this in my files in a blink.

You are really getting the R5 humming, congrats! Great to see you Friday.

this does look like Artie's frame, nice flare in the wings and I like the dangling feet. I wonder if you have a later frame like Artie's where the bill was separated from the body ?

Thanks Brian, I dabbled with that corner a couple times debating on how tight to get. Will revisit this one.

Arash - definitely have some with head above the wings but a slight angle to body position. Went with this direct head on since it was a little different than I'd seen on the blog.

Check out the focal length; definitely not Tampa Bay. Head to my blog and do a search for Stick Marsh ... It is amazing.
