Joe, I'm guessing you were stoked when you looked at the camera and saw what you had captured. At least I would have been. This is really nice, and I don't recall seeing other Gallinule BIF shots. At ISO 720 you certainly had room for some more SS, but you probably weren't expecting this guy to fly past you. Nice colors and comp.
Joe, great colors, wing position and nice dof to get the whole subject. Never seen this species in person, can only hope to.
I am glad the darker green wake lines dissipate as it gets closer to the head. You could consider lightening the two dark ones pointing into the head, but I am good with it as is too.
Joe, a great capture indeed. Love the colours on this bird, nice and sharp and a great flight pose. I don't own a 1.4TC but it's good to know that the combo can work well for bif. TFS
Hi Joe .... really nice frame .
Love the overall color palette and the colors rendered .
I would keep an eye on the tones ... maybe less dense in the darker range .
Well done Joe in capturing the image, perhaps a tad more on the ISO for greater SS. Did you listen the image???

Hey Steve, welcome back, I missed you. Story behind the image... I had been shooting tight portraits of Cormorants. I was walking back along the trail with Dottie to get to the car and head home. I noticed this bird streaking across the water, instinct took over and I was able to capture three images so no time to adjust shutter speed. The image is pretty much as it was in the camera, slight adjustments in exposure but nothing I would call lightening. Thank you for viewing and commenting,
