Another frame form the local lake. I kind of like how she was "floating" in the air.

About as perfectly square as it gets. Head angle, wing position, techs all spot on. Thank you for sharing, Arash.

hi Artie I don’t think it’s turning away. I had the same thought initially but I stared at it for 10 minutes and from where I am looking it looks 100% parallel but it could just be me. I have hundreds of files from the same flight coming at me but I like this one better for some reason. Will post some of those later.

To me it looks like the duck is parallel to the frame, especially the head. I think the natural curvature of the abdomen makes it look like it is turning away. Regardless, it is a a very cool photo and a very interesting pose. Thanks for sharing.

To me it seems like it is the body that is parallel, with the head curved slightly away as if to look where to go next! One of those images where it is so borderline that we see many interpretations of the angle. At least it makes us study the image even more. I love the tucked-in feet, water drops, overall IQ.

The angle is fine and IQ is great with those feet... I think the wing position is so so...

thanks guys this image certainly plays mind tricks.

Fortunately at 30 fps you get all the wing positions that you can imagine, multiple from each in fact. Here is one a few frames later, I am sure many will prefer this one but I still like the original better, it feels "faster" to me for lack of a better expression.

    Both are awesome.
No easy feat getting these little bullets in flight.
Like you, I like the floating feel of the first image.
You might consider cloning out the extra catchlight.

The second feels more parallel (but like you say, mind tricks!), but the first is better for the lit back half of the body and feet. Both pretty cool though!

The repost is spectacular... way better for me. I see them a lot, wings full down like this is hard to get.

To me it looks like the bird is slightly tilted. Nice and sharp though.
