    Default Black-tailed Godwit

The lovely posts of Ann and Gail forced me to go back into my Iceland files. Like both of them, I haven't been out photographing much recently. Hopefully the arrival of migrant warblers with change that. Also like them, I have had to cancel my travel plans. I had made arrangements to take my family to the Okavango Delta in 2020 - figured my 11 year old grandson would love the animals. Alas I had to postpone that trip to 2021. The camps were amenable to holding our deposit for a year. And now, I've had to ask them to postpone until 2022, which they will do. Hopefully things will be better by then. By now, at 13, the grandson would probably prefer mountain biking with his buddies, but I think he'll still like the animals. Anyway, I couldn't resist digging up my version of a previously unposted Black-tailed Godwit from Iceland (2019).

This is really good Bill! The godwit really pops against that grey background! I invite you to join the challenge! Find a wagtail next and join the party!
We are booked for Namibia and Botswana next early March 2022 so I am hoping we get to go and I hope you get to go as well. But I am prepared for the worst...

Hello Bill, "I feel your pain..." Please join in our lil Icelandic bird processing challenge. Gail and i found ourselves not posting or processing and we decided we better shake a tail-feather and put that behind us, hahahahaaaa... I like the godwit and the beautiful rust feathers against the steel grey rocks and BG, nice and sharp and the foot stepping forward has nice look at the toes!
    looking forward to more IBs

Neat looking bird. That bill really stands out. I like the rocks. Cool looking feather pattern.

Those colors are awesome, goes well with the background and the rocks. Tack sharp and perfect exposure, well done.

Ooh, I love the dark grey surroundings combined with the beautiful colours of the godwit. So appealing! Nice to see the foot touching the rock that way. Good IQ. A fine image, glad you dug it out of your archives!
