This is the second species that Ann and I challenged each other to process.
I have very few images of this bird and had to scour my Iceland files to find this.

Well glad you scoured and scored! IQ is superb and the bird has nice details. Love the chartreuse lichen covered rock against the gorgeous BG of seaweed in the distance. Super to have the bird calling and the EXP is perfect. Well done.

Its a beauty Gail....What a difference a 'different' coloured BG makes...It shows the bird perfectly...Good control on blacks and whites, with nice feather detail...Great calling pose and HA...I hope you and Ann aren't having a wee competition ....I think both Wagtails are nice, so that's a draw...

The thing I like the most about this is that background. Gorgeous color in that one. Nice calling pose. Perfect framing.

Hi Gail, the rocks and lichen must be typical to Iceland, you and Ann both have it in your images. All the techs look good to me, really neat background. Thank you for sharing.

I love the BKGR. The bird is angled ever-so-slightly away from you. Both of your subjects -- or are they the same bird? -- must be feeding young in the nest as the both look dirty on the face near the bill.

Different birds but both feeding young. All the wagtails in Iceland in early July look a mess!

Terrific calling pose, well exposed, good detail. And lovely BG that makes the image. To my eye the bird's head is slightly turned toward you, more than compensating for any slight body angle away.

Gail, just masterful. You are indeed a force behind the lens!

Beautiful on all accounts. Most has been said but I echo the effect of the background, just gorgeous. The subject is very well processed with great detail and the tongue... oh man, the tongue...

The rocks are great and your choice of comp is as well. The only minor rec I have is maybe to blend the bright/dark transition line in the bkg just above the back. It almost looked like a cloning remnant.

Was a pleasure to view, thank you.

Thanks Brian for your very kind comment! No cloning I promise but I do see the area you are referring to. I had not noticed it before. You have eagle eyes!
