    John:

    Nice landing pose, like the flared feathers, esp. the prominent alula. The angle in the frame gives us good eye contact. Would consider cleaning up the one larger dark spot in the water, others aren't a problem for me. Perhaps a sliver more contrast on bird only.

    Excellent wingspread..
    I like the raindrops seen against the birds' wings.
    I would clone out the square black spot to the right of heron's left foot. I think I would clone out a few of the water splashes in the water. All the "spots" are a bit distracting. Cloning a few out would minimize the impact of the drops,

    terrific landing pose but the water seems a bit distracting to me... Yes for evicting the black blob...

    I revisited your image, and noticed a couple of fairly large dust bunnies, above and flanking the head. Could be something in the water as well, but I would clean those up.
