    Default black-tailed godwit

With our usual shooting buddy trips cancelled due to Covid, Gail and I decided to revisit our Iceland trip and select a species and both post... So here is our first double dose of a fairly common bird in Iceland but one that you don't see very often. I didn't have many images to choose from and in this frame i am not pleased with the lack of details in the rump whites despite them not being blown. This was taken in June/July of 2019 and i was using Nikon gear at the time. did the usually sharpening and denoise...

Good one Ann! I love the BG.
The godwit is nice and sharp.
Glad the bill just cleared the far wing.
    PP looks good!
In a perfect world, the far wing would be fully extended downward but this is still excellent.

A bit of a pancake pose but I love the sharpness and the BKGR. On my one trip to Iceland I fanned on this species so I am envious.

Nice overall. I like the darkish feel here. A bit of a greenish cast on the far wing - easy to remove with the sponge tool set to desaturate. Good BG, sharp, and great that there is a bit of separation between the wing and the bill.

Ann, sorry you had to cancel. I know you're pretty bummed.

I think you processed this about as well as you could. Really like the mottled bkg. Good comments above.

Would love to go there and view this species one day. TFS.

Hi Ann ... nice flight shot .
    Love the mottled BG .
Colors looking quite pleasing ... personally I might go a bit " lighter" in the darker tones .

Looks good to me, Ann. The colors of the bird and background compliment each other making for a nice color palette. I think the rump looks fine. I am loving the background. Thank you for sharing.

Solid flight frame. I like the pose and the framing. Detail looks good in the overcast light.

handsome bird, good details but I am not crazy about the wing position, especially the far wing. wish it was up / down or something more dynamic
