Super-sweet juxtaposition. Love the low angle, the tone of the water, and the o-o-f drake. I only wish for a bit more room below for the reflections.

    What was the situation?

Looks great with the male in tow. Great color in the water. Nice light and low angle.

Great exposure, detail is excellent, background and water is spot on, love that eye.

Thanks Artie wasn't much of a reflection is why I cut it off. I was passing through Denver last month. The opportunities for waterfowl in the winter are amazing. I would have never guessed such a hot spot.

Kevin, I'll view shots with the water all day long!

Fun frame with the drake on her tail. Nicely lit, the eye really pops. I definitely like the RP better.

I felt like the OG was just a tad over-sharpened, esp the head feathers above the eye, chest and the neck near the shoulder, but the RP is probably a tad under sharpened. I'd say in between would be spot on.

I like the juxtaposition as well. Repost is better, adding more space all-round works well.

Hi Kevin ... lovely image and good work in the field .
Good to see two ducks and perfectly positioned in the frame .
Processing looks good overall , well done !!! I can see where Brian is coming from with his thoughts about the sharpness and I would tend to agree somehow .... but it is only a very minor " nit"

OP for me in terms of cropping .

Good to see your processing steps .... compared to posts some time ago . Well done and keep up the path in terms of processing !!!

I love this concept where the OOF male suggests the identity of the female; I've only been able to execute it with phalaropes where the female is brighter and suggest the male!

Repost with more room is an improvement, but the frame was pretty **** perfect to start with. Golden water is so nice. Looks great for ISO 3200.
