Saying Goodbye to Winter - American Robin.

With the snow now all melted away, and temps become comfortable, it's time to say goodbye to what was a productive winter locally. Here is one of many American Robins that over-wintered (every year quite a few do) and spent many days foraging the ornamental crabapple trees in the city. Between them, the waxwings, and the grosbeaks, the trees often were so full of birds!

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1250s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, FF, a couple of protruding sticks and berries removed top and lower edges to improve the comp.

Daniel just a beauty of a shot. Love the composition and the snow with the crabapples adds immensely. For my taste I would like to see a little darker on the back and wing. I do see the way the light was hitting those areas so maybe it was that way. Either way wonderful capture.TFS

Love this one Daniel. Whites look great and the whole composition, bird's pose, HA all work for me. My only gripe is that the bird looks a little over sharpened to me...mainly the head. TFS

Beautiful image of this bird, Daniel. Man, I am envious of your snow! Between it and the icy-blue background, I can really feel the cold in this shot. Love the direct stare, only wish for a bit of leg! Might clone the tiny but bright spec on top of bird's head. Sharpening looks fine to me.
