Kevin:
Handsome bird, nice shooting angle , drops, soft background. Nice detail considering the ISO.
Because the reflection is so distorted by the shooting angle and ripples, I might consider softening the darker bottom part a bit more, to reduce its tendency to draw the eye away from the subject. Purely personal taste.
Again, from personal taste, my first thought when I opened the image was that it was that the water was a bit too bright.
Cheers
Randy
Hi Kevin, nice look at this Golden Eye. Nice low POV, do I wish I could easily get that low. I agree with Randy's suggestions. Thank you for sharing.

a beauty Kevin, POV, water drops, I agree w Randy's suggestions
Hi Kevin ... a very fine image .
Works well for me .
Comp , overall colors and the nice popping of the FG/BG .
Good and solid use of the Topaz plugin .... not overdone ,IMHO, Specially in the sharpening front
I do see some potential or variant in the tonal range .... check my RP .
Nice one , TFS Andreas

Thanks so much Andreas, yes I wasn't happy with the water too. Couldn't crop any more off the bottom without it looking weird. Thanks for your version. You are so correct about Topaz have to be very careful with the sharpening aspect . It wants to over sharpen.

Thanks Randy for the suggestions I think you are right.
I really like this, just love the BG color. Would not have guessed iso5000. Repost is better.
The repost is nice in terms of exposure. Beautiful color in the water. Nice how the water beads up on those wings.

love the soft light and the calm ambience, greens look good not much detail in the whites or blacks, likely from the high ISO... love the little water drops too

Kevin, beautiful canvas. Finding water like this is a feat and a joy when it happens.
As mentioned, you handled the ISO well. Andreas' repost does capture some of the details left in the OP. Very nice pose and light angle.
If you wanted to be super particular you could just clone out the whole head in the reflection.
My biggest gripe is that you didn't ping me on your way through ;-)
Well done my friend!
Looking good Kevin.......Very well done on 5,000.....My kind of image....Well done

Golden water makes this a very memorable frame, Kevin. Lovely low view and composition. Andrea's repost addresses the detail comments nicely, so hopefully you can work up something similar on your end. These are such
beautiful birds!
Very nice Image. The repost is really nice. A bit too large in the frame for me (personal choice).
I like the watercolors a lot.
