Common Merganser Droppin' It...

From late last summer, when this gorgeous individual came right in close to shore. I had posted one of her liftering her head out of the water with a waterfall cascading off her face, but here is one right after when all that was left were dripping drops.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/2000s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, small crop after a 1 degree CCW rotation. Minor water cleanup via spot removal tool, and some offending specular highlights removed from the bill via patch tool.

I remember the former image distinctly. This one is equally as beautiful.

The super minimalistic canvas, soothing blue palette and the drops (even the arc pattern) are wonderful.

Sleek pose from these skittish ducks. At least in my local. Low angle is great. Neat how the water drops are all lined up.
