    this isn't working for my David, way too much empty space, nothing there to look at really. osprey is tiny and doesn't show any details

    I quite like the composition of this. I am a fan of negative space in some images. I would take a sliver more off the bottom.
    I would reduce the exposure on the sky by 1/3 of a stop and maybe selectively lower the exposure on the osprey by 1/2 stop.

    If there was some clouds around to break up the blues....I think it would work...I done one similar with a Gannet, with a cloudy BG and it looked good..Even a little water surface on the bottom would make it better IMO...

    I do like small in the frame images. If there were some trees or something to anchor the bottom of the frame.
