Theme: Lady Luck
Surprised there were not more theme images this month. Gotta keep Stu happy...
A second from the series with this female Hoodie feasting on a Perch (few frames earlier).
Again, is a challenge limiting noise while not over-deploying NR as this is the hardest I've pushed ISO on the R5. I thought it was just hanging on in terms of IQ.

LR and PS, DN. Evicted a couple bubbles and some awol water splatters.

Brian:
Excellent capture, color harmony with the pop of red, low shooting angle, flying drops, well exposed.
IQ good considering that ISO. Not easy to get a sharp frame at that shutter speed on this type of action.
Well done.

Fabulous shot. Did it manage to swallow that fish?

Looks good as posted. Neat to see such a large prey item. Super nice low angle, and I love the soft, even light.

Quality looks fine especially when the subject is so well shown, super exposure greet timing, ideal low angle, the red gills of the fish are really interesting too.

Hi Brian ... good to see you posting !!!
I hope things are becoming better with your son , keep fingers crossed for him and your family !!!
Stunning image in terms of IQ when having the techs in mind .
Love the low POV and the fish is the absolute icing on the cake .
Nice tones throughout and the colors are quite nice . Personally I might drop the blue/ cyan a fraction , but could be a reflection of the sky ... then I would leave it as is .
When performing NR , I personally would not remove all of it ... personal taste !! A good option would be to add a bit of grain to avoid the TOTAL smoothness ..... just a thought !
Very well done my friend

Love everything about this one. Really love the light and the soft reflection... PMP TFS

Great capture, with good POV, HA. Nice neutral BG makes the bird pop. Just wish the perch had turned around, but then, you wouldn't have had those nice red gills.

Randy, your feedback is valuable. Yes, there were certainly fewer sharp and in focus frames in this series than most but grateful for the couple that turned out.

Colin, indeed it did. Their throats seem to balloon as needed. Looks painful to me, esp a perch with the sharp dorsal splines and gill plates.

Indeed they are my friend. Surgery is scheduled next Friday - 4 hour tumor removal. We received your prayers and well wishes.
I actually brushed a ton of spots to reveal some of the existing grain. Mostly in the 3/4 tones. But yeah, totally get not reducing all the noise!

Bill, appreciate you chiming in! I too wanted the eyes on the Perch, but you're right, the red gills adds a little something I think.

What a frame. Image quality looks great for the ISO. The smooth water transitioning to the background is fantastic. Of course I have to mention that fish. What a frame.
