    Here's another image from Brigantine (Forsythe NWR), from a few weeks ago. The most elegant of waterfowl IMO. Here again, the problem at "Brig" is the inability to get a low POV. Taken in subdued lighting not long after sunrise.

    D500, Sigma 150-600C @ 390mm, ISO 4000, 1/2000s @ f/6.3 manual.

    Bill:

    Agree about them being an elegant bird.

    Appreciate the challenge at certain locations, just can't work the birds like you would prefer. I might consider cropping considerably tighter all the way around, put the focus more on the bird and less on the fairly neutral water. I find that this also helps with the perception of shooting angle somewhat as well.

    Now here is a bird i see all the time at around 300 yards away. I do like the ripples in the water.
