    The area behind the HB is a shadowed area underneath large bushes and an Oak Tree, it makes for a dark BG. This is one of the setups that I have going in the summertime.


    Nikon D200 ~ Nikkor 300mm F/2.8

    Hi Mike :)

    Love the composition and idea, but the perch seems overpowering, maybe because of the dark background?
    Maybe if you burn the color a little bit, it would help.

    Perch and pose are very nice. The BG is too dark for my taste.

    I agree with Fabs: the hummer's pose is great, but the perch is distracting. Maybe try duplicating the layer and using "Multiply" as the blend mode would help that part of the image. It would burn in more details in the perch while toning it down dramatically.
