Taken last November. Just a target of opportunity. I think I was looking for duck locations. If I remember correctly, I did use audio to draw the bird out once spotted.

If I saw this without attribution, my guess would be it's yours. Great perch, pose details and tones. TFS

I think this is a lovely shot, super details and colours, my only suggestion would be to lift the darker tones in the plumage - just a little, and maybe burn the stump a tiny bit also.

Very sharp, great perch, etc. I agree the dark tones might be brought up a little, but I am also sort of liking the contrast here.

Hi Jack, lovely little bird, wonderful perch. I guess I agree with Jon regarding lifting the darker tones in the plumage. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Jack ... a very fine and clean image .
Overall a nice color palette ... i do agree about the heavy tones .
I think you like it that way ... as all of your images are more on the heavy side in terms of contrast / deeper tones . Just a matter of different tastes ....

    Nice one , TFS Andreas

Agree with lifting the darks a bit, but the lighting, head angle, and knotty perch really make this shot crack. Light slash in BG through head is a bit unfortunate but far from a deal breaker.
