Always like photographing male and female Wrens...they're so cute. This one agreed to pose for me.

Hi Paul, One of your best of these beauties. The perch, the framing, the pose and especially the details and spot on sharpening. TFS

Lovely looking bird.....Love that tail and facial expression...Good detail and pose....The perch spoils it for me, especially the OOF part...it competes with the subject too much...If this was a set up, I would go for an ultra thin perch...if not a set up, well done on getting this shot.

Hi Paul .... great shot !!!
Love the duo color BG , would have been perfect ... if the Wren would have been completely in the " blue circle " .
But that is very critical ... love it as is .

Only thing I might do is burning the bright parts on the perch ....

    TFS Andreas

Thanks everyone for commenting...always greatly appreciated.
Will: This was not a setup, so I appreciate your kind words. Yes, I agree with the oof section of the perch. I may go back and remove it, but it's always a compromise in Photoshop to get the BG to look good. I am however ok with the rest of the perch. Cheers
Andreas: funny really...I decided to dodge the light sections a little...to add contrast with the darker sections. I may go back and try your suggestion. Yes to the bird being in the blue circle...I have other shots (different head angles) so will have another look. Cheers.

Great look at this little guy, Paul. Pose is very attentive, the erect tail is fun, and I like the pale pink legs as well. OOF bit of perch in front is a bit distracting, but
the lichens are nice. Blue spot behind it what it is; it's not ideal but it's far from a dealbreaker. Composition looks good.

Dorian: Thank you for the feedback. I've just finished re editing the file...I removed the oof perch, reduced highlights on the perch and applied a closer crop...looks much better to me now. I like the blue "circle", but agree with Andreas that the bird fully within it would be better.
Ian: Thank you. I have plenty of photos of the male...some photos with both male & female together. I do think the females are cuter...lol
