From a few weeks ago, when I came across a lot of Fieldfare feeding on the Sea Buckthorn berries....This is handheld from the vehicle...I was on the bird as it was perched, when it took off I managed to keep focus locked on the head. The BG is drifting snow...Not a set up....so the biggest problem was getting clean shots...ACR Topaz DN and PS2021.

Well done holding focus. Unfortunately the BG is a bit messy for my taste.

Another real life as it was type image - I'm really liking this style very much indeed.
Looks good as is, I may be tempted to add a little more colour to the Fieldfare just to see the result?

Agree that you did well with maintaining focus where it counts. If it were mine I'd remove all the oof bits on the left, and also the oof darker sections in between the thorns? on the right side. Must admit that the halos around those are an issue for me too.

    Hi Will ... somehow a `marmite `shot , IMHO .
I really like the pose , almost head on starting .... just wish the feet would have been visible !!!
BG is good for me .
Might just give the subject a bit more tone ....

Took some skill to get that focus point on the face, so well done on that front! Rest of image doesn't work as well, particularly the branch intersecting the wing/body/foot.
    1/1000 killed you here, unfortunately.
