This is one from the shore in my hometown.....This Eider never seen me under the cam net and climbed onto the rock....I was hoping that he would climb to the top before perching, but I was happy to get this close and get detail in both blacks and whites. About 50% crop....HH...ACR and PS2021

Can't fault the exposure and detail, lovely shot. To my taste, a little cropped off the bottom and as much again added to the top.

Very nice Will. Perfect exposure and I really like the kelp covered rock.
I like your choice of crop.
Perfect HA and he is so nice and clean!
It seems like any eider shots I have from my local patch always show very dirty bellies so it is nice to see this guy clean as a whistle!

Thanks Gail....This same bird had been bathing just before he climbed onto the rock...must have known he was going to get his photograph taken...

I have just seen your grouse and now this! Another gem, I know this is repetitive but it looks so natural and the colours so life like, the duck looks possibly aware of your presence but not al all perturbed.
