Default Returning to Colony at the End of the Day...

EOS R6 RF 70-200 @200 f2.8 1/4000 ISO 500 HH, Manual EXP, cropped from horizontal for composition

A rare day when it is possible to have sun at your back and wind coming from your back to front simultaneously at this particular pond apple stand. Took out the amazing RF 70-200 2.8 to take full advantage and have better separation from nearby trees as colony members flew in during sunset. It is typical, even as they approach, both the nest standing partner and the fly-in other half recognize and call well before landing. Kept all of the golden light and lightened shadows a touch as suggested on previous posts.

As always, thanks so much for valued help on previous posts. Pleased to get more and always learned from.

Bird looks great but the BG is still a bit distracting. Maybe it could be blurred a little?

Looks great to me, the exposure and colours look very good indeed. DOF is also good, the background looks very natural and for me it is what my be expected in the habitat the bird inhabits.

Hi David .... very cool , almost comical approaching subject .
    Nice warm light .
Personally I might change the WB to neutral and then add some warmth .... just my take .
Would love to see slightly wider composition .

    Cool shot and TFS Andreas
