Just awesome and very hard to get. Sharp right where it needs to be, pose, does it get any better? TFS

Well I do have more of different species in differing poses. I have also got some ideas on an alternative technique that I am going to try.

Awesome pic, how many pics do you shoot until you get a keeper like that?

It depends upon which technique I use, there are keepers and keepers, some good pose ideal focus and some ideal focus not good pose. I may shoot 1500-2000 at a session and there maybe 10 that are good but absolutely bob on maybe 2-3, but so long as I have something worth processing I am happy.

You must be very happy to have the digital options .... otherwise it would be a very expensive way of shooting some birdies

    Nice, maybe some more sharpening.
Remind me not to buy a used camera from you....

Perhaps a bit more sharpening on the face, but man-o-man I love the pose and BG.

Thanks very much everyone, I'll look again at sharpening on subsequent posts, I tend to minimise it because I don't want to give the impression that the images are sharper than they are.
Dan/Daniel I am using electronic (18-60fps) rather than mechanical shutter so there is no wear and tear on the shutter mechanism..... so a used camera from me may not be such a bad idea!

Very nice work Jon. I like it as posed. These types of shots are super fun to shot....when you nail one, it's exciting.

Well done Jon...this is better at f/6.3. Agree with a little more sharpening on the head ....apart from that all looks good to me...
