Whilst I was photographing the Black Headed Gulls at a local loch....This curious Mute Swan, which was about 50 yards away, clambered onto the ice, and walked towards me...and kept walking, until it was about 3 feet away

One very sweet frame with this ice walker. Love the light, details and walking pose right at you... TFS

Hi Will. I "proclaim" that to be a very nice capture. Really like the composition, the lighting, the sharpness, pose, the raised foot, the water droplets and the BG. TFS

And I would walk 500 more........ to get a shot like that! the light is magical rendering the swan a silver like appearance, the bill is just above the wing, I think that is important/advantageous from a composition POV.

    Hi Will .... brillant

All works well together , really like the BG with the brownish color to add some change to the ice blue .

Might at least try , a version with exposure lift but masking out the whites as an alternative

    Enjoyed watching , TFS Andreas

Wasn't sure form the thumbnail, but I'ma huge fan now that I'm here. Lighting, exposure, and detail are awesome. The steely ice is so cool (for lack a better word), and the detail on the feet is outstanding. The strip of brown adds anice bit of context behind. I am curious what a vertical would look like. A 4x5 would dial right down on the incredible detail. But the wide view is very nice. An awesome image regardless.

Love this image Will. Great attitude from the bird, beautiful water droplets top and especially the belly. Great feet texture, and I like the reflection and shadow on the ice.
