Nice frame Jon. Bird is very sharp, I like the moss covered rock perch personally and the BG is very nice. Good work!

Love the perch, framing and details. Only wish for more of perch in focus. Beautiful canvas overall. TFS

Well captured! Perfect HA here and I like the overall composition and FFD here. I'm ok with the perch, but can see others needing more focus there. Cheers.

    Hi Jon .... a real peach !!!!
You managed to have a superb view at the eye ball .. really cool .
Perch is cool , albeit being a bit competing with the subject , might try to lower the saturation of the yellows a fraction and see if that helps .

    Pretty cool work , Jon

Neat looking bird - I like the complimentary colors with the rock and bird from naturalist perspective.

Beautiful view, Jonathan! Eye contact is great, and the diffuse BG is perfect. Lichen adds interest as well. Focus looks sharpest on shoulder, so I might add a touch more sharpening on the face. But that's pretty minor.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. Andreas - lowering the yellows does indeed work, I did do that but for some reason I posted the version with bolder yellows, I thought I used to be decisive, now I am not so sure!
