Hand held, not crazy about the position of the river but I don't think it would look much better either higher or lower! Maybe another cm at the base would have been good, it is a slight crop because it wasn't quite horizontal.

Hi Jon .... works well as presented .
Not much you can do about the river !!!
Color and tones are nicely balanced ....if you like a slight lift in the 3/4 tones might bring out a tiny bit more detail
And yes , a bit more rom at the foot would not hurt

Thanks Andreas, I was looking at the 3/4, maybe a tad more elevation there.

Hi Jon, intent stare on this elk. Exposure, colors and detail look good to me. I read your comment regarding the base, it might be possible to add a sliver on the bottom. I don't mind the river it is part the habitat where elk are found. Thank you for sharing.

    Hello Jon,

Lovely scene, nice pose and expression from the little elk. Colours and tonality look really good. Those trees and logs in the BG add to the image.

The river - as you said, not much you could do about it. Yes to a tad more FG. Was mom close-by?

You processed this image very well and the subject stands out beautifully. I like it as presented, thank you so much for sharing!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
