Nicely caught, I like the angle, I feel contrast a little high/and or the blacks are a tad dense but I know you like images with punch so that boils down to preference.

Yup, that is how I feel one year into this $%^&*pandemic!
    Cool pose.
The blacks are quite dark but it is nice to see some of the green iridescence at the bottom of the neck.
I like that I can see both eyes.
I find the blue line in the water a bit distracting but it is what it is.

Great pose, but I'm not sure this is up to your usual IQ. Bird looks lie it's been smoothed out, and the black face are sitting a bit heavy. I wish we could see the green iridescence on the head.

Thanks, Dorian, you did not see my post about living without PS.. The Raw is very nice, I think Capture one is the best RAW converter by far and
I got it for that. However, taking photos from RAW to final downsize post that would please people here which is my goal, is hard to do with just Capture
but I am working on it.
I have to get my nice Mac to a shop and have it stripped to nothing and re installed to fix. A nuisance.

Ugh, sorry to hear about the computer. And thanks for the explanation. Cheers!

Hi Dan, I think you can get better results in C1P with selective sharpening and then output sharpening, paint the bird then use something like 180, 0.5, 0.4. then when converting to JPEG make sure output sharpening is ON. wont' be as good as down sampling with PS and smart sharpen method but it will be better

I also use PS for nothing other than the plugins (NI, Topaz) and also down sampling (plus layers). For raw conversion it's just a load of junk (IMO). the day capture one can do plugins and layers I will be done with Adobe.
