Spending some time out in the San Diego area. Had some fun with the Brown Pelicans and nice to see they are in breeding plumage.

Beautiful light here Kurt - its so easy to blow the white head on these in good light. Nice wing position and varied sea background

    hello Kurt,

Especially whites are very good in technical and flying details.

The blue and black colors are tiring, the saturation is too much for me (personal)

Kurt well caught good focus etc but for me colours are too saturated and contrast too high. I appreciate my comments may not resonate because colours are indeed more vivid over there than here...... but!

Nice action, Kurt. Lighting really puts the focus on the face/head, and the lack of shadows on the wings is fortunate! I don't have issues with the blue water, but I'm sometimes guilty of pushing that color in my own shots since its my favorite.

the colors look absolutely perfect here, I would not change a thing

I like the pelican, nice light and good details, the under wings illuminated nicely. THe next step up would be to get him banking or diving

Hi Kurt ... top notch capture IMHO .
All works well to me in terms of subject , IQ and colors .
As a personal taste I think the darks and the 3/4 tones are a tiny bit heavy ... easy fix if one likes a tiny bit more details .

    Nice one , TFS Andreas

Looks really nice. You can play with blues in the background, but this looks good as it is.
