    Hi all ....
    this little fella was photographed back in 2014 , location was the far north eastern tip of Namibia in the Babwata NP .

    Canon EOS 1D MK IV
    EF 500 IS L
    Bean bag

    F 8 ; Iso 1250 ; 1/1000 sec

    Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2021

    Surprised that you mentioned the OOF tail .... technically not possible to get the tail in focus , not even F 11 would have helped here !!!!

    Great to see you got some soft subtle light. great angle and details as good as expected. Tail is a non issue to me

    I really like this Andreas. Lovely color, exposure, and details. My focus goes straight to his beautiful face, so I don't ming the tail at all. I'd actually prefer a bit more DOF across the perch, but that's
    far from a deal breaker.

    Thanks folks for your kind comments , much appreciated .

    @ Dorian , well might be better with more DOF across the perch ... but for the same reason as the tail closing the aperture would not have helped .
