    Jon:

A very subtle bird. well captured, with interesting perch. Nice catchlight, soft background. I am guessing your back garden is not covered in snow! -10 here this AM, with 2 feet of snow on the ground!

    Cheers

Jonathan, gorgeous. I had to Google to realize this is in the Warbler family. Cool!

Checks so many boxes; nice, in focus perch, great sharpness on the entire subject, nice head angle and beautiful bkg. Lichen is great.

If you had the canvas you might consider bumping the frame right just a little. You would lose the little stem sticking up on the right and maybe balance the frame a touch.

I dig this though, well done.

A nice clean shot of this guy Jon and you have a lovely backdrop too. I think you could add a tad of Exposure and if you have it, as you didn't mention it, but a tad more on the LHS and loose the ugly end of the perch on the RHS, might hide a hint of cloning too there? I might look at your greens Jon, the lichen to me is missing that nice yellow, it has a blue/green look IMHO. Could also up the sharpening, but as this is perceptual then personal tastes.

    Steve

PS jon I have a huge amount on currently so am only going to dip in & out as and when I can.

Thanks everyone for your comments, Steve, I wasn't happy with the greens, I have a few ideas - always experimenting! (or messing about) - depends on how you view things!

Nice solid image. So nice to see the female of a species.
Good position on the bird with a nice view of the entire bird.
I like the variations in the BG.
I would crop slightly to eliminate the little bits if branch on the RHS and LHS or you could clone out.
I have never seen this bird IRL but think that the greens are quite heavy in the BG and perch. I would try for something between your OP and Steve's repost (which looks to yellow to me although the bird looks really nice in his repost)

    Gail

Hi Jon .... a real peach

Nice IQ and the overall design is cool .
Color is matter of taste , will leave that to you .... as peeping might be difficult .
Just needs more exposure , IMHO .

    Enjoyed watching .... TFS Andreas

Now this is much better than the other two shots above. Bird is sharp and is showing good details you got a nice perch complete with moss which is great too. The image has a strong green magenta color cast which Steve fixed. Makes me wonder if you have a bad monitor or uncalibrated as I see it in every single photo you post. Something to this about.
