This was taken last week near the house. This female is all puffed up due to the extreme cold. I hope you enjoy the image.

I really like this image. The bird and perch look wonderful, the splash of color in the background compliments the bird. Nice image, thank you for sharing.

    Jim:

Very soft light , nicely angled perch, well exposed, crest.
The colored branches in the background are an interesting element as they harmonize well with her colors, esp. the tail.

I might very gently soften the edges/contrast of the one by her left shoulder. It is only noticeable because it is so close to her head, which draws our attention.

    Cheers

This looks very appealing. I love the snow reflecting light off the ground up onto the bird. Nicely raised red crest feathers too.

I like the pose, head turn and the complimentary BG colors. Nice frame!

    Lovely frame Jim!

Pose is attractive, nice dof and I like that the perch is perpendicular to the lens (and in focus).

Agreed that the touch of magenta and pink in the bkg compliment very nicely. If you're not a purist, blending the edges on those could really help.

Processed nicely, great frame from me!

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. I like the idea regarding the blending of the OOF branches. Sorry for the slow response.
