    Default How bored am I?

This bored: An adult Ring-billed Gull in winter plumage. Municipal powers have closed my local shorebird spot for the next two f#$%^ing years, and there ain't s$%t else to shoot within
a half-hour drive of here unless I'm willing to invest the whole morning into the kayak. Output has cratered, and I'm not terribly optimistic the next few months are going to be any better.
Currently trying to unload my DX2 rather than have it sit idle and depreciate. Sorry, I needed to vent. This is when I wish I had a yard to do set-ups or something.

Nothing wrong with a nice Gull photo,,, the tip of beak could be sharpened... The 2 local refuges I went to for years have been closed since Covid.
I used to bike 4 miles to do photography, I now have to drive 15 miles for a decent spot. 6 more months I think.

We have all been there in that situation, It is fairly common in Utah in Winters. I have to go to places which are really far off from my home.

    Like the wing position.

Excellent image Dorian! I like the IQ, HA, details, water color and composition. Sorry to hear about the closure of your local birding spot.

not bad, checkout MV shoreline, there are some ducks there (canvasbacks and golden eyes if you're lucky)

Ah man, closures of favorite spots really is a bummer. I hope they have a good reason to close for two years! As a fan of gulls I am loving this one. Sharp, good light, well composed frame. Hang tight, things will be looking up soon (I hope!).

Dorian, sorry to hear of the sucky news on your prime spot my friend. That's a drag. But, where there' s a will there's a way...

You made the most of the opportunity here. Nice flight pose, eye contact and good dof.

Maybe a slight bit of green hue to my eyes but see what you think. Otherwise, processed nicely!
