I took this photo last February at Santa Anna refuge along a lake at Alamo Texas. We think of females as usually drab just have to look at them differently still a beauty of a bird. Processed with Dpp 4 Photoshop I did several versions to try and rid a color cast of red, blue. This was the best one I processed.
Would have it been better with the bird darker and less detail? Comments and critiques appreciated as always.

I love it. Sharp throughout, and neat pose. I even like the pano crop, which is not often used for single bird portraits. The bird is exposed perfect as is, it does not need to go darker, but you still have a colour cast here: on the greenish side. Adding about 15 points of magenta in PS Colour Balance seems to do the trick.

Thanks Daniel I added the magenta but it seemed like I was getting too much red so I added some Cyan to tone down the red. .I do think it looks better not so green.

Sweet image. Love the background. At first glance I would have thought this image was staged. Well done.

Lovely shot, (it still looks rather yellow to me) I think there are some lovely colours in the wings that are being masked.
