    Default Black-capped Chickadee

This was taken today on the local trails. I grabbed a chunk of ice and put it up on the platform I made. I melted a hole in the ice with my finger and put some sunflower seeds in there. The Chickadees are quick to find the seeds and are a treat to watch. Hope you enjoy the image as much as I do.

Creative setup and awesome results. Love the perch, BG and details. Maybe just a tad more out of the blacks but love this canvas as is.

Hi Jim .... looks good to me !
Sweet subject and nice clean perch .
I can see some slight tweaks .... a tad more brightness , slightly opening up the darks and reducing the blue /cyan a touch .

Jim, Chickadees are so photogenic. No different in this frame and you did well to reel him in with the snow and seeds. Nice job.

Overall comp works nicely and good exposure. I feel you may have been able to push it another 1/4 to 1/3 stop though, what do you think?

What is causing the yellow/blue coloration in spots on the snow perch?

Thanks Brian for your keen eye. I saw the spots in the snow and tried to neutralize them in the OP but couldn't get rid of it. I reprocessed the image from the original RAW and am interested in your thoughts. I must have inadvertently brushed that in discoloration. On this round I took out some blues in the snow and bumped up the exposure. WDYT?

Thanks Kevin, David, William, Andreas and Volkan for your comments and suggestions.

Jim, for me the RP nails it! Nicely done on all accounts there.

If you wanted, you could play around with a touch more sharpening but it's a very nice frame for me.

Hi Jim ... well worth the effort , IMHO

If you sharpen more as per Brianīs suggestion ... make it gentle

Gotta love the chickadees! So hardy and seemingly always in a good mood (even when harassing an owl lol). One does not realize how large their feet are, but we see that very well here. Good OP, great repost.
