    Default three's company...

This dead tree in my yard has been a great perch for yard birds. However, it is a rare occurrence when two birds are on the tree for a split second, but today there were three... Sure, I wish I had all three birds sharp and that there was more DOF, but this is the best i had in the burst. At first i was disappointed by the middle bird's nicitating membrane, but then it gave a demonic" vibe. I love starlings and when the light is flat, their colors and patterns really shine.

You made a very nice photo in bad light... I would try to add catchlights although the middle bird maybe not...
Starlings are great. No longer a nuisance where I live, I try to find them.

Ann, I think the creativity (call it timing if you want) of this is fantastic. The layered effect of the birds with varying poses is really cool!

You handled the exposure beautifully. Drew out some colors even in mediocre light. I like the void space to draw the eyes in.

Unfortunate that the last Starling was just oof but still a fun image all around!

An interesting and colourful image, I think it was a good idea to focus primarily on the foremost bird.

Ann: the soft light really show off their subtle coloration. Soft background and snow on the perch help tell the story. I would prefer to see the eyes of #2, but it certainly does give him that scary look.

Wow, this canvas really does these beauties justice. The details and colors are off the charts with that light, your EXP and the BG. TFS

    ps
    DOF perfect for me...
