This is one I captured last week at the local harbour....It had been the best day of sunshine in weeks. This was late afternoon winter sun. The lower BG is the old harbour wall in the distance...Almost FF, cropped for comp...HH..ACR and PS2021.

Wow, nitpick is you don't have more in front because you nailed him at this range....Excellent!!
I like the BG split and the duck right on it, purists may not but it adds to me.

Hi Will, this guy is so fast and what a wonderful capture, I too like the position of the duck parallel to the horizon line. EXP is wonderful, sharp and full of details,well done

You grabbed this stud nicely. The lighting was gorgeous and you exposed him well. Sometimes hard to catch enough of the head iridescence on these guys to make the frame but you definitely did it here.

I am a bit indifferent about the horizon line smack down the bird's axis, but I'll overlook that in a heartbeat as the subject is so nicely captured.

Normally having the horizon cutting through the subject is a 'no no', but here it seems to work Will. Like the water droplets on the belly.

Handsome fellow. I fall into the old school about the line cutting through the subject, but, if it has to be, that position is probably the least problematic , compared with through the wings for example.

I echo the others regarding pose, exposure, color, and details (especially on the feet!), but the split background is tough for me. Without any texture whosoever, the brown is a bit overwhelming.
