    Default Male Bufflehead in Duckweed.

Taken yesterday in a local urban pond full of Duckweed, which is harmless and kind of attractive...
By urban, I mean urban, the riots you read about in Portland Oregon are right in the neighborhood....
The ducks probably get a whiff of tear gas every now and then..

Dan, this is a beautiful look at the Buffie Drake.

You've captured the colors in the iridescence nicely and the mix of greens with the duckweed (great name and appropriate here) transitioning down to the golden orange below is nice.

I feel like you maybe could've used a touch more exposure as the subject feels ever so slightly muted to me but details are sweet.

Also, maybe could bump it a touch more right as I think you might have clipped the edge of the tail (whether actually seen or not).

    TFS.

Whoa! I love this one, especially the head as noted above by the Flying Duckman. I think that it would be 4 times stronger with more room al around, especially if you have the complete reflection in the original.

Thanks for the comments, this is small crop from right so no room behind or below unfortunately.
This is a dark pond in a city park so the muted feel is what it is, I can only shoot here in certain light which is
never great, only high clouds really work as the pond is surrounded by large fir trees..

Great detail on this bufflehead, espcially the head. Love that color.
