Hi all. The Egret was kind enough to pose for me. Cheers.

Hi Paul , a simple and nice effective profile shot .
Set the subject nicely off the BG , cool colors .
For me the image is lacking critical sharpness and there is not really fine detail showing up , IMHO .
The whites are looking like " smooth" surface .... you should try to make more detail visible , if the whites are not blown in the raw .Just my take .

Hi Andreas. Not sure what you mean by critical sharpness...looks very sharp to me. However, I could take the whites down a tad and reveal more detail, but I like it as is on my monitor. Cheers.

Paul, I like it. It looks razor-sharp to me. A bit more detail in the WHITEs would surely be nice. You could try pulling down the Highlight slider or a 15% or so Linear Burn.

I would like to see the bird tucked a bit more into the corner.

Solid portrait. Nice pose and framing. The blue water background is nice.

Thank you Artie and John and Andreas: On second thoughts I agree with the need for more detail in the whites and the placement of the bird. I also added a touch more yellows to the beak. Here's a re-post. Thoughts?
