Default King Penguin in landing action ...

    Attached Images Attached Images

Hi folks , another King Penguin image from South Georgia .
Landing site was " Right Whale Bay " .
So funny to watch these guys coming back to the beaches ....

Wish the other one in the BG was not there .... I shouted at him , but I think the crashing waves were simply to loud

Love the image, Andreas. I can only imaging being in position and waiting, watching as these birds come back to the beach. The splashing water and the out of focus bird is really neat. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, a really dynamic image. Love the overall composition, oof bird behind, water splash, colours and sharpness of the main Penguin. TFS

Ideal angle and the bird is very well shown, the image really conveys the situation very well indeed, a top shot!

Cool image and I like the OOF bird except the halo. Water action is superb... TFS

A very nice capture Andreas and the very saturated colouring of the Penguins set agains the very contrasty blacks provided for a striking image. I feel a tad more below would be good and reduce the sharpening of the water around the sides/belly of the Penguin, I just think it appears just a tad too sharp with the whites amplifying the HL's.

Thanks so much folks , for your feedback . Glad you like it .....

Steve - I could have bet , that you would say that about the water . And I agree with you .... was just too lazy to go back and reduce the effect in the master file . Was already 50/50 myself when working on it .... after downsizing I said , just leave it . Also agree with you that it would be better to have more room at the foot !!!

Andreas, really fun shot. Action is off the charts!

Colors processed nicely as usual for you and check out the cross hatch pattern on the neck, chest and belly; crazy!

Feels like it would be slightly more interesting without the second subject, at least for me. Still fun though.

    Appreciate the post!

Now this is some action. I like the framing and low angle. The splashing water is great.
