These are magnificent antelopes and makes for a great feast for a pride of Lions. This guys is about 5-6 years of age judging by the antlers. Wasn't fussed with our presence, just carried on nibbling the shrub, but he new that if we got too close he could just bolt and escape if need be. Note the Ox P in the shadows, on the RHS of the body.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

Hi Steve ... does look very nice !! I really like them they are so big and still elegant .... specially when walking !!
    Colors , details , tones ... nice work .
Wish for a slighter head turn towards the camera ... the oxpecker should have gone , destroying the body shape .
Needs more space at the bottom , IMHO , as those legs are very long .

Doubt anyone would notice if I hadn't mentioned it.

Think that's magical Andreas as you can easily gauge where the feet are, but could extend a fraction more.

    Cheers

What a beast. That hair on his neck and those three white dots along the jaw are pretty neat. Love how the antlers curl.

Steve .... most of folks would not have noticed the OP , and I meant he should have gone in reality .... not via removing in post . I would personally not remove such element ....

To avoid the canvas extension .... shooting wider if possible , would have been the better way .

    Cheers Andreas

Beautiful tones and colours, the coat markings are shown to good effect. The horns (not antlers I think) look most impressive. I appreciate a little more canvas at the base would have been good.

Thanks folks, but I'm OK with the foot of the framing, so no need for additional canvas I feel, as if it was added, it would be minimal IMHO.

    Horns, correct Jon, thank you.

    Dear Steve,

I know I am very late with comments so please forgive me... but felt I should compliment you on getting the colours spot-on here...from the brownish-silver grey of the Kudu's coat to the orange inside the ear

Love the pose, quite elegant and it shows those massive horns and strong neck of the animal. Also points to behaviour - the species mainly feeds on shoots and leaves. As well as flowers

Framing looks good, for me perhaps a bit less at the top would be good. I like the vegetation in the frame and especially the FG. Well exposed and PP is superb, thank you so much for sharing

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
